Kimberly Horton is a 13-time award-winning designer with nearly a decade of experience in the industry. A self-taught powerhouse, Kimberly immersed herself in every educational opportunity to hone her skills. Her dedication and passion led to national recognition, with her work featured in esteemed publications such as Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, and HGTV. In just five years, Kimberly scaled her business to six figures, a feat she believes could have been achieved in one year with the right support.
Driven by a desire to help other designers avoid the slow and challenging path she experienced, Kimberly founded the Interior Design Collaboratory™. Her background in psychology and her innate desire to assist others inspired her to create a platform that demystifies the so-called “trade secrets” of the industry. Through the Collaboratory, Kimberly provides comprehensive, customizable tools and personalized guidance, empowering designers to scale their businesses efficiently and successfully.
On a personal note, Kimberly is known for her no-nonsense, get-shit-done attitude. She is a dedicated mother to twin daughters and a neurodivergent teenager. Kimberly started her business on a whim, aiming to create a career that allowed her to be the kind of mother she wanted to be. Her journey and experiences have shaped her into a mentor who genuinely understands the challenges of balancing professional growth with personal responsibilities.

“I entered the wholesale industry with minimal experience, recognizing its complexity involving details, relationships, and documents. My aim was to boost sales and profits, and this course proved to be a game-changer. It provided well-structured information, real-life examples, and statistics that demystified the wholesale market. The included scripts were invaluable, helping me navigate negotiations effectively. Additionally, using receiving companies not only ensured professional package handling but also elevated my client perception. [This course] was… exceedingly beneficial to me when I first started.”
